USATF NE Ironunner Ceremony, 2009

I didn't dare to say it until it was done, but Baystate Marathon on October 18, 2009 marked my 70th consecutive USATF, New England Championship Grand Prix race... yes, ten years, ten Ironrunner jackets... I should get a life, huh? Wait second, this is what I enjoy.

Why was this year the sweetest?
** First year for Goon Squad Runners & escape from an evil empire
** Teammate, Smokin' Ivy led our Goon Squad Master's Women to 2nd place at Baystate, the New England Marathon Championship and I got to help us score, along with Enforcer scoring
** My Ironrunner jacket fits... size XX Small

Jacket Getting Goons 2009: Codfather, Spanky, Showtime, Doctor Death, Hill Check, Enforcer, Goatie

Thanks Jim Garcia for the photo from the Ironrunner ceremony and to USATF New England.

Congrats! 70 in a row is pretty crazy. It is amazing that you could stay healthy for that long. I think you should be "Iron runner" or "Roadie" instead of "Mountain Goat". :-)

DD - Thanks. Like you, it came down to injury timing... i.e the year they wanted to operate on my knee. I agree on the name change... problem is a Goon rule that if you ask for a name change, you end up with something worse, like how Annie Starrett became "Poopsie"

What a feat my darling daughter; but just like every accomplishment you have made in all your years of running. I am very proud of you.
